Join Our Mailing List!

This is to remind you that you have registered for the Arts|Learning Symposium, ARTFUL STEM, on May 1-2, 2014. This email gives you detailed information about details for the Site Visits on May 1, the Symposium on May 2, and the Reception and Awards Event on May 2. Everyone is receiving the same information, even though some of you have only registered for some of the events. Please read carefully and feel free to skip parts that don't apply to you.

Site Visits May 1 to Henderson Inclusion School or the Boston Arts Academy.

If you have registered for this event, please send Jonathan an email at to confirm whether you are traveling to the school on your own, or wish to participate in transportation from Lesley University in Cambridge. Those going with the group from Lesley, please meet at the rear of the University Hall, 1815 Massachusetts Hall, Cambridge at 12 noon. The parking lot at the back of University Hall is off of Roseland Street. Please bring an umbrella as we will be walking about two blocks and showers are expected. Transportation will be provided courtesy of the MBTA subway system for a real fun Boston experience! Each group will have a guide pay your fare both ways, and to bring you to and from the school so you don't get lost! Following the end of the site visit, we will leave the schools at 3 PM and return to Lesley University by around 3:45 PM.

Please note: Taking pictures, video, or sound recording of classes or students is not allowed.

Symposium May 2.

Registration will occur for all participants and presenters at Lesley University, 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, starting at 8:15 AM. The parking lot at the back of University Hall is off of Roseland Street. You may also wish to park at the Alewife MBTA station (Alewife Brook Pkwy, Cambridge, MA 02140) and take the Red line one stop to Porter Square--just a block away from University Hall.

The Symposium will start promptly at 9 AM and finishes at 5:15 PM. Please allow plenty of extra time to travel and park - driving congestion and parking difficulties are legendary in Cambridge!

The registration area will be on the second floor of the building and there should be signage to direct you to the correct area. Please:

  1. check in at the registration table
  2. pick up your program book, and
  3. pay any outstanding balance that you may owe (checks are preferred, we cannot take credit cards at the event).
  4. If you wish to have a certificate of attendance for PDPs or CEUs, please be sure to see someone at the registration desk at the end of the day at 5:15 PM - that is when they will be given out, and only for people who have attended the entire day.

All events are on the second or third floor of the building.

Reception and Awards (pre-registration required for this event unless you registered for the complete day)

  1. Please check in at registration table on the second floor if you haven't yet registered.
  2. Reception begins at 5:15 PM in the Atrium
  3. Awards will be presented at 6 PM in the Amphitheater, Room 2-150 (Please note a few awards are being given earlier in the day as well).

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Email us at, or phone 508-650-5044. Please note, that starting May 1 at 11:00 AM, our phones will not be covered as we will be at the event through May 2nd. We can check emails remotely, however.
