2013 has been one of the most successful years in A|L's 15 years of operations.

We can only continue providing these outstanding services, programs, and advocacy (see list of accomplishments below) that help arts educators and students across Massachusetts with YOUR help.  Won't you consider a membership ($30) or a contribution of any amount now?

In the past three years, Arts|Learning has...artist-in-residence
  • Sponsored day-long symposia & presented sessions at over 20 events and conferences, which have:  
  • Impacted 1,800+ educators, artists, school administrators, school committee members, which have: 
  • Impacted more than 200,000 K-12 public school students statewide. Additionally, A|L has: 
  • Introduced best practices in arts assessment, now continuing in 30 school districts statewide. 
  • Supported three school districts in defeating arts education cuts through "Parents Unite for the Arts".
  • Testified at the MA Statehouse on significant arts education issues such as STEM to STEAM, and the Creative Challenge Index.
  • Presented over 50 advocacy awards. 
  • Developed ongoing partnerships in support of programmatic excellence with the MA Cultural Council, the MA Dept of Elementary and Secondary Education, VSA MA, Young Audiences of MA, MASSCreative, and MA Association of School Committees.
  • Developed ongoing relationships and project partnerships with 10 school districts.

Specific New A|L Initiatives for 2014:null
  • Implement the highly acclaimed Principal Arts Leadership project, developed by our sister alliance, ArtsEd Washington, to bring about systemic change in schools through principal training, organizing arts teams, and developing & implementing school-wide arts-education plans.  
  • Advocate for the inclusion of one year of high school arts as an admission requirement of the Massachusetts state university ystems (in partnership with MASSCreative).
  • Promote the change of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) to STEAM (adds the Arts).
  • Assist and promote the pilot of the Creative Challenge Index in MA schools.
