PHEW!  It has been a pretty intensive week preparing these five mini newsletters chock full of useful information and links to our 6,400 readers.  We hope you have found the reading interesting, provocative, and helpful!  Today's last issue focuses on ADVOCACY, and gives you many tools and tips for advocating for strong, sequential, quality arts education programs.

Please consider supporting small but effective arts organizations such as Arts|Learning. Like everyone else, we have had to tighten our belts due to the hard economic times.  We are the only unified voice supporting all arts education domains in MA - music, dance, theatre, visual arts, media arts.  Help us continue to be a STRONG and VIBRANT voice supporting arts educators and teaching artists across MA.  Thank you!
Arts Education in the News

Here are some important recent articles and news reports that you don't want to miss:

This is just a sampling of what has been reported in the past six weeks!  Arts Education is coming of age!  There is a large body of compelling evidence that supports the impact the arts have on cognition, social skills, focus, concentration, psychological health, reasoning, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and development of aesthetics.

ARTS|LEARNING in the FOREFRONT of ARTS EDUCATION ADVOCACY

We suggest that you take a look at our many initiatives that support arts education.

Also, take a look at our Arts|Learning video page
which has several short videos that report on cutting-edge research supporting the arts in schools, featuring Steve Seidel, Ellen Winner, Martin Gardiner, Thalia Goldstein, Nadine Gaab, and many arts practitioners.  These are perfect to show to your school board, administration, or parents to gain support and understanding as to the importance of arts education.

Participate in our Parents Unite for the Arts project that is setting up a statewide network of community arts education support groups.
