Kennedy Center & National School Boards Association Invite Award Nominations

The Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network (KCAAEN) and National School Boards Association (NSBA) Award is open for nominations. The winning school board receives a plaque presented at the NSBA Annual Conference, along with a cash award of $10,000 to use for their arts education programs. Details are online.

Since 1989, the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education NSBA logo Network (KCAAEN) and the National School Boards Association (NSBA) have provided an annual award to a school board that has demonstrated support for and commitment to high-quality arts education in its school district. This national award recognizes districts that have included four artistic disciplines-visual arts, music, theater, and dance-in their programs.

Each state may advance one nomination to the national panel. Panelists include educators and arts professionals, including representatives of the KCAAEN and NSBA.

The nomination deadline is November 1, 2013.

BostoMC Logon Mayor's Race Heats Up!

Join the Create the Vote coalition for the Boston Mayoral Candidate Forum on Arts, Culture, and Creativity. Arts critic Joyce Kulhawik will moderate the debate. This is a tremendous opportunity to ask the candidates to articulate their vision for the arts in Boston. It is also a rare opportunity to show the political leadership in the city of Boston just how engaged - and influential- the creative community is.
