Nominations for e-Showcase Now Being Accepted

Come help celebrate as we unleash--and document--the creative genius of Massachusetts youth by celebrating their artistic accomplishments through an innovative e-Showcase!

The Massachusetts Cultural Council and ArtslLearning are pleased to present "Creative Minds Unleashed!"--the annual e-Showcase of high-quality youth arts from across Massachusetts.  Each school or organization may post up to 3 quality art works (dance, drama, media, music, or visual art) on their website which will then be linked to the e-Showcase posted on the ArtslLearning website during March to celebrate national "Youth Arts Month" in Massachusetts.

More information, application and guidelines are available here.

The Arts|Learning's Champions of Arts Education Advocacy Awards

honor individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to arts education advocacy and continue to make strides toward the goal of high quality arts education for every student in Massachusetts.

From 1984 through to the present, the Champion of Arts Education Awards have recognized over 225 teachers and arts advocates in our schools and communities for their accomplishments educating students and for supporting arts education.  Arts|Learning continues this tradition of recognizing excellence in arts education programs and advocacy. Nominations may be submitted by any Massachusetts resident and current A|L members.  Self-nominations are encouraged.

Nominations are now open for 2013 Awards.  Please note most awards have a deadline of March 15, 2013.  All nominations must be submitted digitally according to the directions in the Arts Education Nominations Packet.

Check out this incredibly useful website and organization that helps parents start booster groups.  Although the focus is on music booster groups, the information could easily be adapted to start booster groups for all domains of arts education in your schools in addition to music, including dance, drama, media arts, and visual arts.

There are lots of advocacy tools, sample forms, webinars, and a lot of other useful information.  Check it out!
