Dreaming of a Baby Doll ...

I grew up in a family of very modest means. My sisters and I had a few board games and books. No jungle gym, motorized toy cars or

electronic games. We made mud pies, rode our bikes, went to the park and swam in a nearby lake. Once a year, at Christmas time, I received a new doll. I remember their names well. Chatty Cathy. Charmin' Chatty. Thumbelina. Betsey McCall. My favorites were the life size baby dolls. I remember going to Ben Franklin to buy real cloth diapers and baby bottles for my dolls.
When I read about the new breastfeeding doll, it made me think of myself. I was the youngest child in our family and never saw a baby breastfeed. All the kids I babysat for were bottle fed. Would I have been better prepared to breastfeed my own children if I had been given a breastfeeding doll?

She has a degree in Education and Human Science and is the mother of two young boys, who keep her busy cleaning up spilled milk and being suspicious of silence. Chloe Daly has joined our babyworks retail team. She is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston. You'll see Chloe's creative touches throughout babyworks and find her helping customers select the perfect baby gift! Welcome Stacey and Chloe!

Musikgarten Demo Class
|  If you have an infant or child from birth to 5 years old, come to MilkWorks and learn about Musikgarten, a family centered program that celebrates a child's love of music and movement. Led by Nichole Mumm, a Musikgarten teacher. One time class is FREE. Registration is required as space is limited.

Toddler Talk

|  The fabulous Images for a Lifetime will be at MilkWorks for a natural light photo shoot on December 13. The $30 session fee is donated to MilkWorks as part of our Best Beginnings fund drive (to make sure that no family is left without breastfeeding support) and you receive special discounted prices for photos! Please remember MilkWorks when you think about charitable donations this time of the year. We rely upon contributions to support many of our services, including our free drop in weight checks and mom's groups, our Parent Information Center, the many student nurses and medical residents who spend time at MilkWorks, and the breastfeeding presentations we provide for high school students and community groups.
