Welcome back, Fall, love the weather! Classes are running, the sounds of music are wafting down the halls! It's so much fun to have everybody back and to meet new friends! If you haven't heard, we are restoring the Grafton Town House for use as a performance arts center. The total cost of the entire project is $6.4M. We have generated ~$1.8M already! As you can see, the front of the building is now handicap accessible and looks great. (The inside, not so great!)) Funds totaling $660,000 remain in hand for the remaining construction. The Grafton Town House Oversight Committee and Apple Tree Arts have submitted a formal request to the Grafton Community Preservation Committee to submit a warrant article at the October 21st town meeting to fund $1M toward the remainder of the project. These funds will be applied to the project only after the remaining $3.7M is raised. On Tuesday night, September 17, the Grafton Board of Selectmen voted to support the CPC warrant article and submit a letter of support to Apple Tree Arts for use in grant applications. COMMUNITY CHORUS
OK, now! Here's a shout out to all adults out there! You know you want to sing and relax with friends!
Community Chorus rehearsals begin Tuesday night, September 24, from 6:30PM-8:00PM at the Congregational Church on the Common. Come join us and welcome our new director, Mr. Chuck Brown, as we enjoy a common goal of making music with friends! There is a $30 fee to help cover the cost of the music.
The first concert date is December 8th at 2PM!
