Building book clubs, literacy for boys of color
|
Greetings!
The need to improve literacy in Detroit is great. Reading is the building block of all learning, and too many students in Detroit are behind. That includes large numbers of boys of color. One way the Foundation is working to solve this problem is through funding 100 small projects and book clubs in our target neighborhoods. With grants of $1,000 providing supplies and books, the hope is to see more boys finding opportunities to get engaged in reading and to do it together. Find out more and apply for a small grant here.
