Greetings!
We believe education should -- and does -- matter t

o all Detroiters. As the city moves through this time of transformation, education must be a part of the conversation of how the city will bounce back. We can't have a strong city, a place that attracts new residents and serves its longtime residents well, without high-quality schools all across the city. And there are encouraging improvements and great stories about work underway. #EdMattersHere week, which begins Monday, is a chance to focus on those stories and to pull the city together in a conversation about solutions. You should join the conversation -- the more voices, the richer it will be.
Here are some ways to get involved:
Check out the toolkit for sample tweets and blog post prompts here. Reshare content that inspires or intrigues you throughout the week.
We'll be posting daily on our Rose for Detroit blog. Tweet about why education matters to you and the city with hashtag #EdMattersHere. And join the TweetChat at 3 p.m. Thursday, hosted by Vice President, Program & Policy Kristen McDonald (
@KristeMc) and CEO of Excellent Schools Detroit Dan Varner (
@ESDet). Find the chat using the hashtag
or just click here. Take to Instragram or YouTube and use the hashtag to share photos or videos of what's working in Detroit education.
Get ready for action. At the end of the week, we'll share ideas of how you can get more involved in the city's education future.
