Answers for FAQs on our new youth development RFP

The Foundation has compiled questions and answers to applicant inquiries regarding the new RFP process, which was announced earlier this month. Visit the Rose for Detroit blog now to see questions and answers so far, and we'll update the post with more answers later this week. Send your own questions to grants@skillman.org. The deadline to apply for the RFP is Aug. 5.

Marlowe Stoudamire has joined the Skillman Foundation's executive team as its new chief of staff. The Foundation also announced the hiring of two more staff members, the addition of a new evaluation fellow, and internal personnel changes.

On the Ground features Brenda Scott Academy, De-Tread

Model D features the Brenda Scott Academy for Theatre Arts in the Osborn neighborhood as part of its On the Ground project, a partnership backed by the Skillman Foundation that plants reporters in Osborn for 90 days. The online weekly news magazine also features De-tread, a start-up that is turning discarded tires into commercial products while trying to improve quality of life, most recently in the Osborn neighborhood.

The Skillman Foundation has partnered with the New York City-based Foundation Center to provide Skillman Foundation website visitors with a custom version of the Foundation Center's Philanthropy In/Sight data visualization platform, which utilizes Google maps to show the scope and reach of The Skillman Foundation's work in Detroit.
