An exhibition of art jewelry that confronts the topical issues that Americans are facing.

Craft in America Center, Los Angeles, CA, August 27-November 5

Work by American jewelry pioneers and emerging leaders that examines our political landscape directly and metaphorically. Through the lens of wearable sculpture, the artists tackle a myriad of focal socio-political concerns. Their work offers commentary, elicits deeper conversation and sheds light on our aspirations as a society. Artists include Nancy Worden, Sandra Enterline, Laurie Hall, Kat Cole, Jana Brevick, and more.

H21: Handouts from the 21st Century is a collection of 60 handouts and teaching aids from 45 artists. Compiled by SNAG president Nicole Jacquard and dedicated to J. Fred Woell. It can be ordered from SNAG for $56. Proceeds benefit SNAG and Haystack's J. Fred Woell Scholarship fund.

   The Society of North American Goldsmiths advances jewelry and metalsmithing by inspiring creativity, encouraging education, and fostering community. SNAG envisions a diverse jewelry and metals community engaging in thoughtful conversation and critical discourse while preserving tradition and embracing innovation.

Repair Days at The Metal Museum happens September 22-25. Nearly 200 metalsmiths from across the country come to Memphis, TN to make repairs on metal objects brought in by the community.  
American Craft Council's 12th national conference is October 13-15 in Omaha, Nebraska. "Present Tense" will offer two and a half days of active dialogue, in a wholly new conference format. Scholarships available. 
Charlotte Contemporary presents over 100 of the nation's top contemporary artists, offering their latest work in ceramics, glass, metal, mixed media, wearable art and more. October 14-16, Charlotte, NC.
