We want to share some fabulous photos from this year's Exhibition in Motion! The event took place in May at SNAGneXt in Asheville, NC. A tradition at SNAG's annual conference, the Exhibition in Motion is a live fashion show and fundraising event featuring models wearing cutting edge jewelry. This year's theme was Xchange: Fashioning Intersections.
2016 SNAG Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient in the News
 
Gary Noffke, SNAG's most recent Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, was featured in an article in the University of Georgia's publication "The Red & Black." Noffke is a retired UGA professor. You can read the article here.

L.A. Pai Gallery Announces Student Competition Winner

L.A. Pai Gallery's National Jewellery Student Competition just wrapped up over the weekend. The annual competition is based on technical excellence, ingenuity, and strength of creative vision.

Congratulations to the winner Anne-Sophie Vallée, NSCAD. The other finalists were: Maude Lauziere Dumas, EJM; Maria Gabrieleva, OCAD; Yves Girard, EJM; and Emma Piirtoniemi, NSCAD.

Faces of Change
SNAG's annual digital presentation of student work represents the talent, creativity, and hard work of students pursuing certificates, associates, bachelors and masters degrees. The slide show was presented during SNAGneXt in Asheville.

Linking Our Lineage, Volume 2  is an ebook of jewelry and metalsmithing techniques. The links written about were part of the Links project, a fundraiser for SNAG. Available in the iBooks Store for $12.99. All proceeds from the book benefit SNAG. Plus, some of the 2016 Links are still available to purchase.

H21: Handouts from the 21st Century is a collection of 60 handouts and teaching aids from 45 artists. Compiled by SNAG president Nicole Jacquard and dedicated to J. Fred Woell. It can be ordered from SNAG for $56. Proceeds benefit SNAG and Haystack's J. Fred Woell Scholarship fund.

Repair Days at The Metal Museum happens September 22-25. Nearly 200 metalsmiths from across the country come to Memphis, TN to make repairs on metal objects brought in by the community.  
American Craft Council's 12th national conference is October 13-15 in Omaha, Nebraska. "Present Tense" will offer two and a half days of active dialogue, in a wholly new conference format. Scholarships available. 
Charlotte Contemporary presents over 100 of the nation's top contemporary artists, offering their latest work in ceramics, glass, metal, mixed media, wearable art and more. October 14-16, Charlotte, NC.
