SNAG Emerging Curators Program Grants Awarded
SNAG has announced the recipients of the Emerging Curators program grants. Congratulations to:
- Lexie Owen, Unexpected Pleasures
- Lyndsay Rice, EMBODIED
- Maggie Smith, Tech in Craft
Learn more about their projects. SNAG received over 20 proposals from artists, curators, and other individuals from across the globe. The Emerging Curators program offers grants to assist emerging curators in executing exhibitions focused on jewelry and/or metalwork.

SNAG Announces New Technical Education Program and Director
Victoria Lansford is joining the SNAG staff as the new Director of Technical Education.
This new program will focus on archiving the wealth of information within our jewelry and metalsmithing community and making it available to future generations of makers. New technical articles will be a collaboration between established educators of all types and emerging and established makers in the field. SNAG/Crafthaus Conference Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded every January to a SNAG & crafthaus member, and is intended to enable attendance at the annual SNAG conference. Application for the scholarship is open to all SNAG and crafthaus members (must be a member of both organizations). The recipient must have finished their education and currently work in the general field of jewelry or metalsmithing. Deadline: January 30.

Two SNAG Members Named Finalists for Art Jewelry Forum's Artist Award
Congratulations to Lynn Batchelder and Aric Verrastro who were named as two of the five finalists for Art Jewelry Forum's 2016 Artist Award. The finalists will exhibit their work with Sofia Björkman, from Platina, during the international art jewelry fair Schmuck, in Munich, Germany, February 24-March 1. A cash prize will be awarded to one of the finalists, to be announced in February. |
