SNAG Links Project Returns to the 2015 Conference

The SNAG Links Project was originally conceived of and coordinated by Linda Kaye-Moses from 1996-2001. In this project, Linda invited 12 artists to create a link (a pendant-like adornment) utilizing their unique skill-sets. The pieces were documented, then to donated to the annual conference silent auction. SNAG is excited to announce that the SNAG Links Project will return in 2015 to the silent auction and as a technical ebook.

During the SNAG conference in Minneapolis, Linda Kaye-Moses described the SNAG Links Project to Victoria Lansford. Concerned about the challenges SNAG has faced in the last couple of years, Victoria had been searching for a way to help. As Linda talked about the SNAG Links of the past, Victoria began envisioning a new Links Project that could raise funds for SNAG through cutting edge media.

Lansford says: "In keeping with Linda's concept, I've invited 12 artists to make links. Each artist is also contributing to the SNAG Links 2015 ebook in keeping with SNAGs commitment to preserve and disseminate knowledge within our community. The ebook will focus on the technical processes involved in each link through detailed instructions, process photos, and videos."

Call for Related Work
For SNAG's 2015 "Exhibition in Print," curator Wendy Steiner seeks out metal objects-jewelry, sculpture, tools, gadgets-from any culture, that incite revelatory responses in their viewers.  While with jewelry the beauty of an object almost inherently involves an interaction with its audience/wearer, other metal objects can be as programmatically interactive. Deadline: January 15, 2015.
