ACC & SNAG Partner for Invitational Program

The American Craft Council has invited SNAG to participate in their Artist Invitational Program for their 2015 Baltimore show. SNAG will require an application of interest along with submission of images of your work in order to be considered.  Applications will be juried and the program is limited to 10 artists.  This opportunity is open to any current SNAG member.

Artists chosen will be expected to attend and sell work at the ACC Baltimore show.  You may choose wholesale, retail, or both. Please note that chosen participants will still need to pay for their booth space (which you may share with another artist if so chosen) and all travel.  You don't have to jury into the show with the general applicants nor pay an application fee.

Chosen artists will be given access to online resources where they can have their questions answered and learn more about what it entails to set up and sell from a booth.  Each accepted applicant can be partnered with an existing ACC artist, if desired, for help on any issues that may arise or questions you may have.

Please fill out the form and submit five (5) digital images of your work, along with a price sheet listing both wholesale (if applicable) and retail prices for the submitted images.

There is no application fee.

ACC Baltimore is February 18-19, 2015 (wholesale) and February 20-22, 2015 (retail).

Applications and questions go to Gwynne Rukenbrod

Deadline: July 1, 2014, 5 pm
Notification of Acceptance: August 1, 2014

Revere Offers CAD Class

The Revere Academy offers a CAD class as part of its Summer/Fall 2014 Open Session from September 1-5, 2014. This 5-day class introduces the basic tools and functions of 3DESIGN, a very popular CAD program for jewelers. Participants learn how to design original jewelry projects and then create photo-realistic pictures, which are perfect for website display, catalog and professional portfolios.

The CAD-created designs are printable into 3D models for lost wax casting. The materials kit fee includes one castable printed model created from the student's CAD file and a student license for 3DESIGN CAD, good for three months. The license will be renewed for three additional three months at no additional cost for students who sign up for the advanced CAD class in the Spring 2015 Open Session. Students must provide their own lapt top (PC or Mac.)

Revere faculty member, Vasken Tanielian, will teach the class. Vasken grew up in Paris, France, where he apprenticed under master jewelers. Vasken has spent his career as a fine jeweler, designer and educator. He is one of the few classically trained goldsmiths who is also expert at CAD-CAM.

The Revere Academy of Jewelry is located in downtown San Francisco's historic Phelan Building. Schedules, information and a free video tour are available upon request.
