Happy Thanksgiving y'all!
This is the week where we gather around friends and family and bask in their joy and love. This can also be the time when your loved ones push all your buttons and drive you crazy, or maybe a bit of both. However it is, this is a week where we give thanks to our blessings.
I have a friend who on Facebook mentioned she was thankful for first world problems, like setting off the fire alarm because the flue wasn't open all the way, or which winter coat fits over a bulky sweater. I am thankful that I never have to worry about clean fresh water or whether I can eat. I am thankful to have a rich full life with friends and family and a job that I am passionate about. I am thankful I get to have art in my life that enriches it in so many ways. It's all about perspective!
As we spend this week with those who are important to us, what are you thankful for? What blessings are you counting? And how will you keep this perspective as we move through the craziness of the holiday season?
Speaking of being thankful, we at SNAG are thankful for the generous donations pouring in to help us meet our matching grant, and we are very thankful to be launching the Uniques sale next Monday, December 2nd! The day Uniques launches is CyberMonday! This is a perfect way to celebrate and buy a special handmade gift for the ones you love.
In SNAG,
 Gwynne
PS. Another way to show your thanks is to make a small donation to SNAG today and help us meet our matching grant! SNAG is thankful for YOU! |

Volunteer Spotlight: Grace Hogan
Grace Hogan lives in Bayfield, WI on Lake Superior. She is a studio jeweler with a BFA in metalsmithing from MSU-Bozeman. Grace recently became a member of SNAG after many years of enjoying Metalsmith magazine. She is excited to volunteer at the conference in Minneapolis and says "I'm volunteering because I can! I'm proud to say that I was born and raised in Minnesota and will be there to welcome SNAG to our wonderful state. I also know there will be a wealth of knowledge at "From Grains to Gold" and I wish to soak some of that in."
We asked Grace who she would choose as a mentor.
"To pick just one person as my mentor is extremely hard! Aside from my MSU professors, Richard Helzer and Ken Bova... it would have been wonderful to have the late Harry Bertoia as a mentor. He was an artist with a striking, natural style that draws you in and allows you to move about. His character, outlook and artistic expressions seem to correspond with my own."
Thanks, Grace!
