Hello all,
 |
Volunteers Parker Brown and Robin Gordon
|
Last weekend's SOFA event in Chicago was a huge success. Our three lectures were very well attended with a total of over 350 people in the audience! Many of you stopped by the resource table to say hello, and I really enjoyed meeting you.
To our amazing volunteers, I thank you. You helped immeasurably and allowed me to attend to SNAG business. Trista Bonnett, Parker Brown, Lynn Floriano, Robin Gordon, Nate Greene, Sara Holden, Agnes Ma, Leslie Perrino, Pam Robinson, Robin Siu, and Erika Uzman, you guys are great. SNAG is the organization it is because of people like you.
Thank you to Urban Expositions for hosting a great event and to Kate Jordan, Anne Meszko and Erinn Cox for giving SNAG a presence at both the Partner Pavilion and through our lecture series. We are already looking forward to 2014.
In SNAG,
Gwynne The audience for the "SNAG Emerging Artists 2013" lecture was outstanding!

Call for Entry
Deadline: December 1
An invitation to all artists working in any medium to take on the question "What is a Reliquary, and what does it contain?" Work is sought that reconsiders the concept of enclosure, concealment, and display of a precious object. They invite investigation into the transformation of an object from the mundane to the sacred, and once this process is finished to whom is it sacred?
This exhibition is to be held in conjunction with the ECU Metals Symposium "Image and Meaning" January 17-19, 2014.

Volunteer Spotlight: Tabitha Ott
Tabitha Ott is an artist living in Orangeburg, SC who has a passion for Salsa dancing. She updates SNAG's Twitter account. We asked Tabitha why she volunteers - her answer was short and sweet - "Because I love SNAG and I want to help!" Thanks, Tabitha! Check out Tabitha's Maker Profile here!
