Greetings!

Today's news blog feature is an engaging and provocative guest column from educator Frankie Flood talking about his work with new 3D technology.  Not only how dramatically it's changing the students at his school and what he teaches, but also his thoughts on how it offers opportunities to revitalize the metalsmithing field. Agree with him or not, do not overlook this terrific opinion piece.

We also bring you the fifth installment from the Professional Development Seminar, " Customizing the Cow: New Trends in Cross-Platform Optimization" from the All You Can Eat website guys, Justin Hartzman and Jeremiah Poriah.

As the SNAG conferences have gotten larger and larger, we've heard from more conference goers that they want us to also integrate more smaller sessions into the conference.  The ability to talk with the presenters in more of a salon-style conversation format, reinstatement of the breakout sessions, setting up new ways for people to network over the lunch break, and more artist demonstrations.  Not instead of the presenters' talks images but in addition to them.

We listened carefully and have put these "wants" into action.  All of this is in the works for the Minneapolis conference, plus a few other great ideas we've been planning.  Stay tuned in the fall to find out more details.  Our new programming formats are going to make you very happy.

Jewelry to Live Every Deficiency to the Full Extent

What do dictators, megalomaniacs, wannabes and the delusional adorn themselves with? What do despots treat themselves to when they're in a foul mood? Which pieces of jewellery are there to share the hours of victory with them? What do they spoil their subjects with in order to make them more eager to subdue themselves? What do fat cats, tyrants and those destined for greater things use to demonstrate that the force is with them?

Take a look at a fuller
description of the show.  A crafthaus

online exhibition will accompany the show.  Deadline: September 15.
