Executive Director
Week of May 6, 2013

Greetings!

Today's news blog features are announcements From SNAG.  Among other news, join me in welcoming new board member Todd Pownell and our new volunteer coordinator Katie Poterala.  We've also got a guest column from Ethical Metalsmiths
about their new Ethical Sourcing Consortium.

SNAG's Online Presence Committee is excited to announce the formation of a new Social Media Group.  The charge of this group will be to supervise, post, and coordinate lively discussions on SNAG's many social media profiles. These include LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook, among others.

This new endeavor will be headed by OPC member Loring Taoka, the newly minted Social Media Officer. Other members of this group include Tara Locklear, Jen Townsend, and Tabitha Ott. We are looking for other individuals to assist us in creating a vibrant online social community that will serve the interests of the membership. Want to get involved?  Contact Loring at loringtaoka@gmail.com for more information.

Last but never least: VOTE in this year's election and make your voice heard.  I strongly urge every member, including all student members, to take time to read what the candidates say and then VOTE.  There are open seats on the board of directors and the Nominations & Elections Committee, plus several ballot measures for revisions to the Constitution and Bylaws. We have three easy ways for you to vote: online voting, voting onsite at the conference, and mail in ballots. If you prefer to mail in a ballot, contact Tara Jecklin and she'll get that to you asap. All mail in ballots must be postmarked no later than May 7.

The Exhibition in Motion is open only to conference attendees.

There are still some tickets left:
$30 for the floor or $100 for the Diamond level which includes complimentary wine, hors d'oeuvres, and time to talk informally with the conference speakers. Purchase your ticket now before they're all gone. Tickets must be purchased in advance; they will not be sold onsite in Toronto.
