Week of January 7, 2013 Greetings!
As the new year begins, so too are we unveiling something exciting and new on SNAG's website. We have launched Springboard, our online hub for finding and promoting opportunities that are related to jewelry, metalsmithing and design.
Springboard is free and open to everyone, members and non-members alike. Anyone can use it to find new opportunities, and there's an RSS feed to deliver new posts directly to you. Anyone can post opportunities using our incredibly simple web form, and draw new people. Look in your Inbox for a separate broadcast about Springboard, and use this link to go check it out.
Springboard replaces SNAG's listserv SNAGnet, with a far broader reach and greater accessibility to both people seeking opportunities and those posting them. Our deepest gratitude to Susan Honora Stowe, who has been the volunteer moderator of SNAGnet since its inception nearly seven years ago.
I had the pleasure of being interviewed on Metalsmith Bench Talk by Jay Whaley last Thursday. It was one of the livelier interviews I've had and I encourage you to listen to it in their archives.
Last, be sure to read the announcement at the end, below, about the National Humanities Medal Design Competition, the sponsor of this week's Riveting News.
