Week of December 10, 2012
Greetings!
We have just two more volunteer passes available for the Tucson Gem Show, and we still need volunteers on Saturday and Sunday, February 9 and 10. Respond to Ellen Laing no later than December 19.
In addition, I'm looking for a volunteer to update the information on our Museums and Galleries lists, starting in January. Please contact me directly if you can help out on this project.
We've begun uploading information about the Toronto conference on the website, with new information going up nearly every day now, and the schedule will be there soon. Registration will open on January 16. We have not changed our Early Registration rates from the past several years. However we have raised our Regular and Late Registration rates. So register for the conference by March 13 and lock in the very best rates!
One thing that is completely new this year is that you must make your hotel reservations directly with the hotel using this link on our site, not through Meetings a la Carte. We encourage you to make your hotel reservations early, starting now. The Fairmont Royal York is offering a special $179/night rate only through February 15. After that the rate increases to $199/night. I know that's not inexpensive, but for the heart of Toronto, it's a really good deal.
You will recall that last week I announced that we've moved the Constitution and Bylaws, all the board and member meeting minutes, and our strategic plan to the public area of the website. It was wrong to make the board minutes public so just those have been moved back into the Member's Area.
Last, I want to keep reminding everyone of two important changes at SNAG. Our Maker Profile Pages are now a free member benefit. And the membership dues are going to increase on January 1, 2013. If you renew by December 31 you can lock in the current membership rate (regardless of when your membership is scheduled to expire). Take five minutes and renew your membership here.
