Week of August 13, 2012
Greetings!
You'll see that some of today's News comes from SNAG. This includes the creation of a new board position, Community Liaison, with Brigitte Martin taking the helm.
This idea has been proposed in different iterations over the years and when Brigitte brought it to the forefront, she was met with a resounding YES. Given her involvement in so many areas of the field, she is the perfect person to fill this seat. I hope you will talk with her if anything is on your mind.
Riveting News will be on summer hiatus for the next two weeks. Watch for our next issue on Labor Day, September 3. Have a good rest of the summer.

2012 Exhibition in Print
The new Exhibition in Print, "Gothic Jewelry: Sinister Pleasures" mails out today, guest curated by Valerie Steele from FIT. The digital edition follows next Monday.
Gothic has a strange history, evoking images of death, destruction and decay. From its origins in the 18-century literature of terror to its contemporary manifestations in art, cinema and design, the Gothic is associated with the powers of horror and macabre.
Each jeweler selected for this issue contributes a nuanced twist to the notion of Gothic. Each also testifies to the enduring pull that all things Gothic continues to exert on the heart and mind.
