MLK Poster Contest Underway, Public Asked to Vote
Public voting is underway for the college-wide Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. poster competition, in which 12 finalists have been chosen to compete for scholarship awards. Public voting takes place until Tuesday, Jan. 20. Three scholarships will be awarded to the top three winners, which will be announced Jan. 21.

NYC Trip Connects MSU Students with Retailers
Seventeen Michigan State University students from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences and Broad College of Business visited New York City earlier this month as part of Retail Connect NYC, which offered students an opportunity to meet and connect with a wide variety of fashion and retail companies, including Macy's, Burberry and Express.

Students Help Area Companies with New Tech Projects
More than 15 teams of Michigan State University undergraduates are ready and waiting to help mid-Michigan businesses and nonprofits solve their digital problems. As part of the final course in the Information Technology minor, students are required to work in cross-functional teams on a real-world information technology project. They just need a few more "clients."

Recent Alum Publishes Book on the Life of a Muslim in America
When Omar Thabet graduated from MSU this past summer, he was busy finishing his first book, "Life, Behind the Scenes," a non-fictional memoir with a fictional twist that shares the life of a Muslim man living in America, post Sept. 11, 2001.
