College Welcomes 11 New Faculty Members
 
New faculty members are the life's blood of any college that aims to remain innovative. They bring new ideas and fresh approaches that help College of Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS) stay on the cutting edge of the communication arts and sciences. Academic year 2014-2015 will see the largest influx of new faculty in the history of CAS. Fourteen new faculty members will arrive during the new academic year.

Colleges Partner to Offer Artist-In-Residence Program

MSU's College of Communication Arts and Sciences and College of Arts and Letters are partnering to offer an exciting new artist-in-residence program on "The Making of a Motion Picture." Offered this fall, this three-credit course will be taught by visiting artist-in-residence Steve Beswick, who has produced more than 40 movies and television series.

Vocal Health Focus of CSD Research

Through his research, Associate Professor Eric Hunter is working to reduce the vocal health issues experienced by people who use their voice as a primary tool of their trade. These occupational voice users include professionals such as teachers, counselors, emergency dispatchers, air traffic controllers, performers and telephone workers.

Students in this year's Advertising and Public Relations a la Mediterranean study abroad program attended the Cannes Lions Festival in Cannes, France, referred to as the world's largest ad festival.

CSD Student Gains Experience at Practical Rehabilitation Services 

"Interning at PRS has been a great experience and is helping me grow as a future speech-language pathologist. Advertising Alumnus Uncovers Untold Story in Writing First Book

Alumnus Dale Laackman recently released his first book, "For the Kingdom and the Power: The Big Money Swindle that Spread Hate Across America," which tells the previously untold story of two successful marketing executives, Edward Young Clarke Jr. and Elizabeth "Bessie" Tyler, who used their talents to market and sell the Ku Klux Klan to America in the 1920s.
