One down, 11 to go. But that's ok. We get a breather because this one coming up is shorter. But it is full of B-list holidays. Groundhogs, love-tipped arrows and Presidential birthdays make up the celebratory lot (No, I'm not bringing up Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras or even Daisy Gatson Bates Day...oh, wait...I just did...).
We have Super Bowl Sunday, which of course have us ready to eat a lot and watch commercials willingly for the only night of the year (the commercial part...eat a lot is pretty much a de facto norm).
Just like last year.
Business is going very well here, hope your world is rocking as well. Our January 2013 outpaced our 2012, which outpaced our 2011, which...ok, you get the idea. We're implementing projects with the newer technologies of Server 2012, SQL 2012, SharePoint 2013, Office 2013...
Just like last year (the specific technologies change, of course).
We're talking about Windows Tablets with more of our clients. Since we've been using Windows 8 tables for almost a year, we've got some good experiences to share.
Talked a potential client out of working with us. Took about an hour on the phone. The person was convinced that we could deliver a solution for a couple thousand dollars. Which we definitely could have. But he had a much lower cost (and better) solution already on site and in place. He just didn't know he had it. His current technology partner could implement it (with a gentle nudge from us) at almost zero cost.
Speaking to about 30 people at the Streetsboro Chamber of Commerce meeting and another 35 or so people at our monthly Lunchinar meeting about IT trends for 2013.
Starting our fifth (I think) year of lunchinars.
I'd say more, but I've gotta get back to work. Sorry this issue is a little thin. We'll do better next month!
Later!
