Message From the President & CEO
Continuing to Represent What Matters Most to You
Joanne Webster
Delegates from the San Rafael Chamber and the Santa Rosa Chamber created a legislative agenda and took it to Sacramento last month to meet with our elected officials. We met with Assemblymember Marc Levine, Senator Mike McGuire and Assemblemembers Bill Dodd and Jim Wood. High on our list was the critical importance of a transportation infrastructure that supports a thriving economy. Main concerns are the completion of the widening of the Marin Sonoma narrows, expediting the opening of the third lane on the Richmond Bridge and funding for local road repair and maintenance. Also of great importance and a key element of growing our economy is our ability to attract and retain a skilled workforce.

Cal-Pox Inc.

Cal-Pox, Inc. is a family owned San Rafael based real estate development company that has been a member of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce for nearly 45 years. The company has its origins in San Quentin Disposal, the city's former landfill, and one of Cal-Pox founder Martin Bramante's first acquisitions. Martin operated the landfill for twenty years, closing it in 1987 to develop Shoreline Center.

Mr. Bramante passed away at 94 in March of 2014, leaving a lasting legacy. Martin's daughter, Susan Kirby, helped transform the land into a buzzing business center where today Sonnen BMW, Home Depot and Target are located. When Susan passed away in 1999, her daughter Stephanie Kirby Plante, assumed the presidency of the company.
