Message From the Board Chair
Chamber Identifies Key Policy Issues at North Bay Chamber Legislative Summit
On Friday May 1st, members of the Chamber Executive and Governmental Affairs Committee headed up to Petaluma to join members of other North Bay Chambers for a Legislative Summit. The purpose of the summit was to identify shared legislative priorities and band together to leverage our shared political power to make sure our elected officials are responsive to the legislative concerns of our membership. North Bay businesses all appear to place priority on action with respect to transportation, affordable housing and workforce development and share concern that new water restrictions be equitably applied.

In addition to housing 100 aircraft in state-of-the-art hangars, the airport also contains a business park that is home to numerous local companies, including the Agricultural Institute of Marin (Marin Farmer's Market), Linscott Engineering and Marizco Landscaping. The business park also provides clean, private facilities for storage of automobile collections.
San Rafael Airport is the closest general aviation airport to San Francisco and presents centralized and convenient access just one mile off the Smith Ranch Road exit of Highway 101. Located in unrestricted airspace and offering excellent weather, the airport allows pilots to maximize their available flight days and minimize time on the ground. With 100 based aircraft and low daily flight activity (5-10 flights), it truly delivers on its slogan of Enjoy Private Sky.

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, 2014 was an amazing season for the San Rafael Pacifics, our loyal fans, host families and community partners. While the season was capped off by our second championship in the past three years, it is more important to underscore how much a minor league baseball team, like the Pacifics, means to the quality of life and the social fabric of a community and how much that depends on the support of our sponsors. Pacifics' sponsors helped assure that we could continue to provide low-cost family entertainment to thousands of Marin County residents as well as to support a wide range of community-based programs that provide fun activities and events for our fans, fundraising vehicles for nonprofits and fundamental skills programs for kids who can't afford private camps.
