Sailing into Profitability in 2013 Welcome to the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce. Our theme for 2013 is “Sailing into Profitability”, taking advantage of America’s Cup and the fact that the chamber is close to being profitable for the first time in over five years. I’ve been a chamber board member for 9 years, first from 2000-2006 and then again starting in 2010. During this time, the chamber has had three different leaders and our current President/CEO, Rick Wells, is doing a great job ‘righting the ship’ since he took over in 2010. more -> |

The Chamber would like to identify any obstacles or common themes for businesses operating in our city. This information will help us build awareness of the issues that impact economic vitality in San Rafael. Please share a few minutes of your time to help us better serve you and our community. Marin Economic Forum Focus Group Planning on Transportation - TODAY, 1:00-2:30pm at the Chamber Offices Marin Economic Forum (MEF) is partnering with Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) to investigate the commute patterns and use of incentives by small and medium enterprises (companies with fewer than 50 employees) for alternative transportation modes. Carpool, vanpool, electric vehicle, public transport, cycling to work are some of the options. Because San Rafael has a lot of options in terms of public transport and other commute alternatives. Some local businesses are likely using a mix of transport methods. Our study is looking at the knowledge (What does your business know about incentives for alternative modes of transport?), attitudes (Does your firm believe that your employees using multiple modes of transport is a good thing for your business, employees, the environment?), and behaviors (Are your employees using alternative modes of transportation? Is your firm providing any incentives to use alternative modes of transport?). Your input will be very valuable for our study; your information will remain confidential and anonymous. Please call the Chamber at 415-454-4163 or email at frontdesk@srchamber.com if you are interested in participating in the focus group. |
