Forecasting the Future Economic Conference Hosted by the San Rafael Chamber and the Marin Economic Forum
The Chamber is pleased to have partnered with the Marin Economic Forum (MEF) and the Marin Council of Chambers to host the 9th annual Forecasting the Future Economic Conference on October 30th at the Embassy Suites. The main presentation, the release of the MEF fall bulletin, outlined that Marin’s economy will continue to rebound from the recession and is showing “signs of recovery in all areas” reported by Dr. Robert Eyler, interim CEO of the Marin Economic Forum. Our other distinguished presenters offered a mixture of insights into local business opportunities, included Whitney Strotz, Cassidy Turley BT Commercial, Tim Partridge, 32TEN Studios, Dr. Jon Haveman, Bay Area Economic Council and Jon Friedenberg, Marin General Hospital. This is your chance to nominate a large and small company that has demonstrated leadership, given back to the community and made a significant contribution to strengthening our local economy. The following Chamber supported propositions passed in last week’s election: Prop 30 - Temporary Taxes to Fund Education. Guaranteed Local Public Safety Funding. Initiative Constitutional Amendment. Prop 40 - Redistricting. State Senate Districts. Referendum The following Chamber opposed propositions were defeated last week: Prop 31 - State Budget. State and Local Government. Initiative Constitutional Amendment and Statute Prop 38 - Tax to Fund Education and Early Childhood Programs. Initiative Statute. Congratulations to Chamber endorsed candidates Marc Levine and Jared Huffman on their victories. |
