- Fort Worth welcomes a nursing student this month from the University of Reggio Emilia hosted by the TCU Nursing Dept. He will be attending our Annual Holiday event on Dec. 4 so be sure to welcome him.
- Kids Who Care will be sending a company to Reggio in March to perform and be home hosted.

- Danke to the Oktoberfest committee for the fun celebration. Nearly 150 people attended and enjoyed the German Band of North Texas and delicious German food. Thank you to Autobahn, Rahr Brewery and Central Market for their sponsorship of the event and to all the volunteers who helped.
- Thank you also to those that helped host a trade mission of Trier business professionals, led by Port of Trier Managing Director Volker Klassen. The delegation met with economic development leaders with the city of Fort Worth to plan a trade mission of approximately 10 professionals for Spring 2014.

- Domo to the host families and volunteers for their work with the Japanese Ambassador Middle School program. 36 middle school students and their teachers visited Fort Worth Oct. 19-27. The hosting Ambassador schools included McLean Middle School, Fort Worth Academy and Trinity Valley School.

- Western Hills High School will host a delegation of students from Bandung in the Spring as part of the Ambassador High School Program.

- Mark your calendars for an official exchange led by Mayor Price to Budapest, Hungary and Vienna, Austria June 11-19, 2014. A proposed itinerary is online now and costs should be available soon. - The Toluca committee thanks Hal & Elizabeth Lawrence for a wonderful reception and private tour of the "Museum of the Americas" held last month.
- The Fort Worth City Council recognized the Fort Worth Police Officers Daniel Segura, Librado Luevanos and retired Detective and Toluca Vice-Chair Manny Reyes for recent tactical training of more than 100 Toluca Police officers as part of a recent exchange. The Mayor of Toluca has invited Officer Segura and Manny Reyes to conduct workshops to other parts of Mexico throughout the year.
- While visiting Trinity Valley School this month, Toluca students will have a Thanksgiving cultural experience. They are in Fort Worth on a 3 week exchange for 10 high school students along with 2 teachers from Tec de Monterrey Nov. 18 - Dec. 7 as part of the Ambassador School program.
- Mayor Price has invited new Toluca Mayor Gonzalez Calderon to visit Fort Worth April 10-13 during Main Street Arts Festival. If you would like to assist as a day host please contact Irene at irene@fwsistercities.org

- Experience a true African adventure this summer with purpose and join us for the "Mbabane Service Adventure" June 2014. Adults and students will be part of this exchange to both Johannesburg, South Africa and Mbabane, Swaziland. - Students and future culinary chefs from the Culinary School of Fort Worth are planning to visit Guiyang next June. Toluca, Mexico has also been invited to join this exchange as part of their Intercultural Program. Extended tours are planned to Beijing and Xian. Educators are also invited to participate. Fort Worth Youth International
- Youth Ambassador interviews are being scheduled for Nov. 4 - 10 for all 2014 youth exchanges.
- Officers and board members will meet in November to plan the Dec. 8 Holiday Bake sale to raise money for scholarships. This year's total goal is $22,000.
- The photos with Santa at Sundance Square will kick off after the tree-lighting Nov. 23. High school volunteers and parents are still needed so please sign up by contacting Beth at beth@fwsistercities.org. Volunteering counts as service hours.

Emerging Leaders Network (The Net)
- Several NET members have applied to be Associate Delegation Leaders for 2014 Youth Ambassador exchanges.
- Volunteers are still needed for the Mayor's International Dinner "Dancing with the Sister Cities Stars" scheduled for Nov. 21. Contact Beth Weibel at beth@fwsistercities.org for more information.
- The NET is also volunteering with Sundance Santa in November and December. Join your friends and help raise funds to support the youth programs. Sundance Santa is open every weekend from Nov. 23 until Dec. 23. Contact Beth Weibel to sign up for a shift. Friends and family are welcome to volunteer and do not need to be members to help.
