Exploring Community & Culture Program Update
IFSA-Butler's Exploring Community & Culture program (C&C) is designed to take students' study abroad experience to another level. It encourages students to get the most out of their time away, by blending intercultural learning with an exploration of today's complex notions.

Though IFSA-Butler's study abroad programs are already integrated, research has shown that students are more likely to grow interculturally with the assistance of a formal, facilitated program.

One IFSA-Butler C&C program participant said, "[C&C is] a project-based, crash course in the dynamic and lively facets of the Irish culture, as well as the reflection of one's own. It is two hours a week spent delving into topics most certainly forgotten by a typical study abroad student, and there would have been a void in my experience without it."

New C&C pilot programs have started in Buenos Aires and Mendoza, Argentina, joining the already-established C&C sites in Barcelona, Dublin (Trinity, UCD), London (Birkbeck, City, Queen Mary), Mrida and Valparaso.  For more information, contact Patti Brown, director of special program initiatives.
