Vacationers: "We will be sure to return again in future seasons"
To Boyne City Management:
For several months I have been meaning to write this communication to say thank you for making our visit to your city and marina this past summer such a pleasant experience. We sail our 36-ft. sailboat throughout Lake Michigan, Huron and Superior every summer and have a chance to visit many nice places. We are often in Charlevoix, usually on our way up, down or across Lake Michigan. This year we decided to see Lake Charlevoix and sailed from Petoskey to Boyne City. It was such a pleasant experience we found ourselves wanting to stay longer and managed to stay about two weeks at F. Grant Moore Marina. Your staff was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with and the marina itself was very clean, well-equipped and relaxing. The car that you made available to us was a great help and enabled us to pick up our own car from Charlevoix. Also the views were wonderful and the walk to the city each day was great and a pleasant experience. We will be sure to return again in future seasons and pass the word to our fellow cruisers to make sure that they consider adding Boyne City to their travel plans.
Thanks for everything!

November is a great time for Splake fishing
This story by Brian Kozminski is from the website of Orvis, a business specializing in high-end fly fishing, hunting and sporting goods. Kozminski, "Koz" to his friends, owns and operates True North Trout guide service in Boyne City.
November fishing can be some of the most spectacular in northern Michigan. Last week, we were catching 20-inch fall back browns (heading back to the lake after spawning) on the upper Manistee, and this past weekend felt perfect for splake. The MDNR stocks thousands of these genetic, sterile hybrids of a male brook trout and female lake trout each year in some of our deeper, cold water lakes. This is a fish that grows rapidly and will readily chase a fly. Full story.
