Fustini's announces new location on Water Street in Boyne City
With its fifth Michigan location, Fustini's introduces specialty olive oils and balsamic vinegars to the growing Boyne City market. Fustini's has signed a lease for a property at 120 Water Street in downtown Boyne City and will assume occupancy as of Nov. 1. (This location is being vacated by Smitten Designs, which is moving next door, to the former Logo Pros location.) "A trip to Fustini's is not a standard shopping routine - it's an experience," says owner Jim Milligan. "Our core business has always centered around providing the highest quality olive oils and balsamic vinegars. We invite our guests to taste the oils and vinegars themselves and come up with their own favorite combinations." The model has worked very well over the last seven years as the company expanded across Michigan from its original Traverse City location, opening stores in Petoskey, Holland and Ann Arbor (another location was opened July of 2014 in Maui). "After we take possession, we will build out the store in the distinct Fustini's fashion. An Opening Event will be scheduled at a later date," says Connie Nunemaker, Fustini's General Manager. The Boyne City Ramblers' big football showdown with Traverse City St. Francis is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Thirlby Field on West 13th Street in Traverse City. This game will not be broadcast via Internet on the Rambler Sports Network. If you can't go to the game, you can get updates from Petoskey News-Review sports writer James Gensterblum via his Twitter account, which is @JGenster88. Here is Gensterblum's game preview: If Northern Michigan had its own version of "College Gameday", there's little doubt where it would be headed this weekend. Big games don't get much bigger than a clash of two top-five teams in their respective divisions with conference title implications, and that's exactly what fans can look forward to when Boyne City travels to Thirlby Field to take on Traverse City St. Francis on Saturday. Full story.

Warm weather delays the onset of fall colors
From the Petoskey News-Review: It's now fall and most of the region's trees are still a glimmering green. According to the National Weather Service office in Gaylord, the unseasonable warmth is keeping the bright reds, yellows and oranges of autumn at bay for an extra week or two. "We're starting to see (the colors) a little bit," said Mike Boguth, meteorologist. "They're just starting up in eastern upper Michigan. They are a little behind schedule." Boguth estimated the color transition at around 10 days behind schedule. "They're a little delayed because of the warm weather. We're having a record-setting September, so far," he said. Full story.

"The reasons people are leaving are not the same, but half of the people we talk to can't conceive of a church they'd come back to, and a third say they'll actively discourage their children from going, too," said Packard. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss their own personal experiences with organized religion.
> Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting in the community room at First Presbyterian Church, 401 S Park St., Boyne City.
