ONTARIO REPORT

So far it's been a fantastic fall here in Ontario.  Up till the middle of September the weather was unusually mild and felt like the middle of the summer with hot, dry conditions persisting.  Not only did the warm weather continue, but so did the dollar spot, forcing some superintendents to live with the damage with their overextended budgets.  Full irrigation cycles were occurring, something normally unheard of this time of year...

ALBERTA REPORT

Fall is in the air in Alberta and the leaves are changing and starting to fall, as the golf season starts to wind down. Many of the courses in and around Calgary look at the Thanksgiving Weekend as their last before winter preparations. After spending time in Jasper with meetings focusing on redesigning the CGSA and playing a beautiful golf course it was back to work at my club. Weather has been exceptional this fall to allow aerifying and construction projects.

It's an exciting time for the CGSA! We have heard you. We learned a lot from the insights gathered over the summer. Approximately 400 individual stakeholders from golf facilities, related companies, and collegial associations participated in the process. The insights provide a sound foundation for making decisions to reinforce what the CGSA is noted for and for redeveloping areas that need work.
