ENVIRONMENTAL INSTITUTE FOR GOLF RECEIVES $100,000 PLEDGE FROM THE PGA OF AMERICA

The PGA of America has committed its support to fostering golf's sustainability with a $100,000 pledge to the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

"This generous donation from The PGA of America and its 27,000 Professionals allows us to fund research grants, education programs, and scholarships; and helps to give us a stronger platform to advocate for the game," GCSAA/EIFG President Patrick R. Finlen, CGCS, said. "We are fortunate to be in an industry where organizations representing the different aspects of the game continue to come together for the greater good."

With this donation, The PGA of America becomes part of the EIFG's Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes donors who contribute $5,000 or more annually to the EIFG. The PGA of America is also recognized at the Champions Club level in EIFG's cumulative giving program for donors who have contributed $250,000-$499,999 to the EIFG since 1987.

"The PGA of America appreciates the importance of furthering golf's relationship with the environment, so we are proud to support the work of the Environmental Institute for Golf," said PGA of America CEO Peter Bevacqua. "We know through the EIFG, our donation will have a far-reaching positive effect for the environment and those who love the game of golf."

The PGA of America has historically been an avid supporter of various EIFG initiatives, and this donation marks the third time the organization has made a $100,000 donation.
