2013 Friends Day
Saturday June 8: A Day of Work and Play

 11:30am to 12:30pm: AGM
Join us for a bit of business as we host our Annual General Meeting in the Davenport Centre.

12:30pm: Potluck Lunch
Share good food and conversation while catching up with old Friends and new.

2:00pm to 2:30pm: Layers in Time
Author, historian and archaeologist Rory MacKay will host a half-hour interpretation of an archaeological model he has developed with the help of local craftsman and archaeologist-in-training Don Webb. Illustrating various eras in time stretching back thousands of years, the demonstration will include artifacts recovered from public digs along the Little Bonnechere River.

2:30pm to 4:30pm: Cycle to Lafleur Homestead
Hop on your bike and join us for an 8-km cycle up Turner's Road to the Lafleur Homestead. It's a great opportunity to travel into the past while clocking your KM for the Silver Chain Challenge.

School Trips
May 25 to June 22
Students and educators from schools across Renfrew County, including Arnprior, Petawawa and Barry's Bay, are joining up for curriculum-based experiential programs geared to various ages and grade levels.
BOOK NOW: We still have a few spaces left; if you would like to reserve a date reply to this email.

Turtle Season
1% Survival Rate
As you travel our local roadways this spring and summer, be on the lookout for turtles. Each turtle has only a 1% chance of surviving to adulthood. Do your part to help protect Ontario turtles.
