What Works! - 10th Annual AERO Conference | Bookstore | Become a Member!
April, 21 2013
Dear Readers,

The most important item this week is a reminder that our discount conference rate goes up substantially after tomorrow. If you plan on attending the conference, now is the time to register. We also have news and resource items from around the world of educational alternatives. We hope you enjoy the content.

AERO Conference Only One Month Away!
With only a month to go, the discount conference rate ends TOMORROW, April 22nd and will go up to $275. If you plan to go please register before that. Deposits are no longer possible. You must pay the full rate. Register here

Opportunity to Volunteer
We have many volunteers for this conference but need more than usual because we are providing many additional services this year. So we can still use volunteers. Volunteers sign up at the presenter rate and are asked to work an average of 10 hours.

We do need all of your help to get the word out about this first conference in the East in three years, and first ever in the New York City Area. We do need more attendees, especially newcomers.

There are still some openings for May 22 visits to local alternative schools. Let us know if you are interested. We do have a few more free passes to the Metropolitan Museum to be used any time during the conference. We do have the possibility for four more people for the back stage tour of Phantom of the Opera

Pioneering Democratic School Needs Your Help: Less than $4,000 to Go!
AERO attended IDEC 2002 in Christchurch, New Zealand where we successfully made a bid to host the 2003 conference.  The 2003 conference subsequently inspired ten years of successful AERO conferences.

Now, the host of IDEC 2002 is seeking donations to support their legal challenge to legislation that is threatening their status as a special character school. Tamariki is a pioneering democratic school founded in 1966 as an independent school which later integrated into the public system. Please consider supporting their campaign.

They need less than $4,000 USD more to reach their goal!

Teaching the Restless: One School's Remarkable No-Ritalin Approach to Helping Children Learn & Succeed by Chris Mercogliano Hardcover for less than the price of the paperback! Only $11.95 (more than 50% off the list price).
