What Works! - 10th Annual AERO Conference | Bookstore | Become a Member!
April, 14 2013
Dear Readers,

This week we have an important reminder about our conference registration deadline, an offer for registered attendees, and a free contest where you can win two books! Also, we have a lot of news and resource items from around the world of educational alternatives. We hope you enjoy the content.

AERO Conference Only One Month Away!
With only a month to go, the discount conference rate ends next Monday, April 22nd and will go up to $275. If you plan to go please register before that. Deposits are no longer possible. You must pay the full rate. Register here.

It is now clear to us that AERO's core members understand how important and special this year's AERO conference will be as large numbers of them have registered. But we would like to see many more new faces at this year's conference, the first ever in the New York City area. We'd like to suggest to all of you new to AERO who've never been to an AERO conference to take the plunge and meet our amazing network. You'll never be the same. Only once a year is the face to face networking possible.

If you are a veteran member, already registered or planning to, think about inviting someone who hasn't experienced this before and we'll offer them the same rate you paid for the conference! If you paid the early bird rate, student rate, presenter rate, or otherwise, we will extend that same price to anyone who registers and mentions your name. To get this special rate, have them email jerryaero@aol.com or call (800) 769-4171 and we'll arrange it.

If you have any questions or need to make any special arrangements write to jerryaero@aol.com.

Featured Book: Collective Visioning
Collective Visioning: How Groups Can Work Together for a Just and Sustainable Future

Written by former AERO conference keynote speaker and director of Spirit in Action, Linda Stout.

45% Off - Only $9.95!

In far too many organizational meetings, equal speaking opportunity seldom results in equal say. Factors such as race, class, and personal history too often inhibit open dialogue within and among groups, which can lead to a sense of disenfranchisement within the organization, and subsequently, disillusionment with the movement.

Collective Visioning is the first visioning method to address these hurdles in the organizing process and to fully enable members to share their opinions without hesitation. Linda Stout uses her background and her own personal experience of marginalization within the organizing community to show how trainers can be more mindful of the diversity of their members as they strive toward a common goal.

The book features a clear, actionable, step-by-step process to set up and create a welcoming space for activist leaders to collaborate for positive change. Stout details ways in which trainers should reach out to different groups, listen to and understand needs and concerns of the group, create a welcoming space for all voices, foster agreements, ensure the visibility of all members.
