Water Program

As you may remember, the 2015 legislative session ended in near chaos. Last-minute provisions were slipped into omnibus budget bills (to such a degree that former state senator and appellate judge Jack Davies questioned the constitutionality of the legislature's actions). Three of these budget bills were then vetoed by Governor Dayton, including the troublesome Ag-Environment Budget Bill.

"Dayton creates new environmental citizen board," by Elizabeth Dunbar, MPR News.

"From runoff to ruin: The undoing of Minnesota's lakes," by Ron Way and Steve Berg, Star Tribune.
"Green scum and fish kills have Albert Lea on edge," by Tony Kennedy, Star Tribune.

Energy Program
Pollution not only harms our environment, it also costs Minnesotans a huge amount of money every year. Here in Minnesota, pollution from coal plants alone costs us at least 2 billion dollars a year in health and environmental impacts, and that number continues to grow.

CURE and other statewide partners are gathering petitions for the PUC to hold polluters responsible for the true costs of their pollution. You can sign our petition here.

Events and Adventures
Join us for buckthorn removal & other activities on National Public Lands Day!

Fall is a beautiful time of year in Minnesota to spend outdoors removing invasive species, paddling the Minnesota River, biking a trail, or learning and searching for freshwater mussels. We hope you will be able to join us at one of our upcoming fall events!
