You don't have to paddle to enjoy CURE's River History Weekend! We have many opportunities for you to engage with the CURE community and with the environment.

  • CULTURE >> 1:00 PM: An Afternoon with award winning author & poet Gwen Westerman at the K.K. Berge Building in Granite Falls

  • PADDLING >> 11:00 AM: Safety Training at Wegdahl Chippewa County Park 
  • FOOD >> 11:45 AM: Light Lunch at Wegdahl Chippewa County Park
  • PADDLING >> 12:30 PM: Self-organized Paddle Trips. Stations will be set up at Wegdahl Chippewa County Park
  • PADDLING >> 1:00 PM: Family Paddle Trip with the Eco-Voyageur Canoe at Wegdahl Chippewa County Park 
  • PADDLING >> 3:00 PM: Family Paddle Trip with Eco-Voyageur Canoe at Wegdahl Chippewa County Park  
SATURDAY, MAY 3,   4 PM to 10 PM
This year, our annual meeting will take place at Bootlegger's Supper Club in Granite Falls where you will have the opportunity to taste local food, local beer and local wine with fellow CURE members and supporters! 

  The evening will include awards & recognition of great people, a silent auction, the kayak sweepstakes, elections, a great presentation and great entrainment!

SUNDAY, MAY 4

 

10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Prairie's Edge Casino & Resort Convention Center. Approximately 35 artists from around the Southwestern Minnesota area will be selling and demonstrating their art.  Free & open to the public!

This is the second book to be featured in CURE's Book Club and is led by CURE Member Beth Lorenz Pullan. CURE has a couple of copies available for members to borrow if they like. 
 
The Book Club will meet on Thursday, May 8th & on Thursday, May 22nd from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
at the K.K. Berge Building in Granite Falls. It is free for CURE Members and $5 for non-members to participate. Please call the office to sign up at 1-877-269-2873.

  

 
The public, local government officials and transportation supporters are invited to provide input for Minnesota's statewide bicycle system plan during a meeting to be held April 30 at the Kilowatt Community Center in Granite Falls. ACTION Opportunities

For River History Weekend happening on May 1, 2, 3 & 4, we are looking for people to help with:
  • Photography
  • Team leaders for Saturday's activities
  • Leaders of 'self-organized' paddle trips to different locations (you get to pick the one of your choice)
  • Shuttle drivers for the eco-voyageur trips
  • Sign haulers
  • General helpers for activities at Wegdahl
