Experience the Upper Minnesota River Watershed with the guides from Wild River Academy. Natalie, Anna and Nick will be working with CURE this summer to provide the ultimate river experience for those who have paddling skills and for those who want to learn.  This dynamic trio has not only the knowledge of being on the water but have invested a great deal of time learning about the watershed so that you will leave each trip not just knowing more about the river but also more about its surrounding areas.

We Want YOU!

The Events & Adventure's program is looking for individuals who have a passion for being outdoors and would like to join our Member Docent program to lead an event or adventure somewhere in the Upper Minnesota River Watershed.  We are looking for people with a passion for hiking, biking, bird watching, fishing, star gazing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing etc... the opportunities are limitless.

Why volunteer?  It is a great way to share your passion with others.  By giving people an opportunity to experience the outdoors in our watershed, you are helping develop others to appreciate, care for and protect our natural resources. CURE will provide you with docent training and all the materials you may need.

Peg is coordinating our programming schedule for the rest of 2013 and beginning on 2014.  It is not too soon to contact us if you are interested or if you know of someone that might lead an activity that you would be interested in.

You may reach her at  [email protected] or by calling 1-877-269-2873.

Wild River Academy Accepting Donations to bring River's Edge Academy students on a 7-day canoe expedition down the Minnesota River
1 week left, $2,600 raised, $8,000 needed

Wild River Academy has partnered with River's Edge Academy, an Outward Bound high school in St.Paul, and we are taking 16 of their students on a canoe trip this summer. We are providing our program free of cost so that students from all financial backgrounds can participate in this invaluable outdoor experience. The trip will be entirely paid through fundraising efforts organized by Wild River Academy, CURE, River's Edge Academy, and their networks. Click here to donate.

On June 19, Wild River Academy will bring River's Edge Academy students on a 7-day canoe expedition down the Minnesota River, stopping along the route to interact with environmental organizations, community members, Dakota people, farmers, and State Park Rangers. This experiential learning opportunity not only enhances outdoor skills, it exposes participants to the social and natural environment in the Minnesota River watershed, encouraging a sense of peace and place.

They are asking the networks of River's Edge Academy, Wild River Academy, and CURE (Clean Up Our River Environment) to support students on this expedition. To donate, click here. Thank you for your support.
