President's Letter

Dear GIPHCC Friends,

I want to send out a hardy thank you to Jamie Dillard and his team with Citizen's Energy Group.  Citizen's is a valued industry partner.  I appreciate the time they spent with us and the insight they provided as to what we can anticipate in the future.

The GIPHCC Board of Directors is working hard to provide meaningful speakers and topics of discussion.  If you have any suggestions on subjects you'd like to see addressed, please feel free to contact me directly and we will make every effort to get these on the agenda for a future luncheon.

According to my calendar, we have about 4 weeks until the first day of Spring.  I'm sure we are looking forward to some more favorable weather.  I am certainly looking forward to the Vendor Expo which is right around the corner.  Last year this event was a big success, and we are anticipating great things this year as well.  I look forward to seeing you all there.

Brian Lebo,

GIPHCC President

Gentle Reminders:

Vendors Fair, March 11th:  There are still 2 booths available for the Vendors Fair.  Contact Ann to secure either of these last spots.  This was an extremely well attended event last year despite inclement weather conditions.

May 22nd GIPHCC Golf Outing:  Eagle Creek Golf Course.  Be on the lookout for the signup sheets for the golf outing in late February/early March.  We like to give members something to look forward to in the midst of our Midwest snow season.  Start rounding up your teams and deciding on sponsorships.  Hopefully with the later date, it won't be as cold as last year.

Baseball tickets for the June 16th baseball game/picnic may be reserved by emailing Ann at mabooth01@gmail.com.  Price is $27 per person.  Slight increase in price due to food price increase.  Seats are on same side as the picnic.  We've reserved 75 tickets.  Aspinall and Frank Bruggner have already reserved seats.

**Please reserve these tickets now as traditionally

the April dinner meeting is the best time to actually hand the tickets out. Ann will be sending out a fax shortly for all of these events.  Thank you for your support.

News of Note

Thank you to Citizens Energy Group for the February meeting q & a session; it was highly informative.

Welcome to New Associate:  Old National Insurance, Chris Moore, 600 E. 96th St., Ste. 400, Indpls. 46280, 706-9808; fax 706-9908,

Kellie Plumbing is now Kellie Services.  The contact is Ron Griesemer, ron@johnsoncontrols.com.

Brad Isley, PHCC National Association Zone 3 Director,
reported from the Jan. 30-31 Board of Directors Meeting that 2014 ended with a net increase in members. 9 new membership recruitment videos have also been produced. Awareness initiatives are bringing results: more people are looking at us online, there's a larger audience. They are hearing our message.

PHCC is watching the Regulatory Accountability Act, expansion of lead paint regulations to public and commercial buildings and career and technical initiatives.  PHCC is opposing EPA's "Waters of the United States: proposal.  Overall, PHCC is pushing for less regulation that affects phcc contractors and eventually consumers.

Also, The Plumbing 201 textbooks have been revised and enrollment in e-learning apprentice program is growing.
