Greetings!

As I was driving home from a visit with Rho Chapter in Angola I couldn't help but feel the warmth of the Christmas season. They were very upbeat and cheerful as they prepared for their Christmas Meeting. Their smiles were contagious and welcoming and I had fun listening and sharing in their excitement.
My own chapter, Theta Kappa will be doing the same later this month. It's a time for lots of food, drink, and good cheer isn't it? And did I mention the food? Lots and lots of food!
Well, I hope you take time to slow down a little bit from your usual business meetings and just relax and enjoy one another - within your chapters as well as your families. Rho was making plans to support their local women's shelter which consists of 10 women and children this year. They are helping to provide food and gifts and mittens, hats, and scarves.
Can you imagine what it must be like for these women and their children to be in a safe place for the holiday? They are most likely experiencing some anxiety about starting their lives over.
The gifts and food provided by Rho will certainly be deeply appreciated. It made me so proud to watch as the sisters of Rho generously discussed their food donation and passed around Christmas stars that held the gender, age and specific need of each family member. It is true that "In giving, we receive." Thank you Rho for sharing your Christmas Spirit with me and reminding me of the importance of our sisterhood and the difference we make in our communities.
My Christmas wish is for all of our chapters to appreciate how important they are to those less fortunate, especially during this season of giving. Christmas blessings to each of you! From my house to yours,
Marcia
