2012 National Convention: June 22- 24
We are excited to welcome your delegates in just a few weeks to the "Your're an Essential Piece of the Puzzle" Convetion 2012!
Patty Spitler (and dog Louie!) will be Keynote Speaker. She is current host of "Pet Pals TV" and former Anchor of WISH TV. Patty will be discussing her journey and triumph over Menier's Disease.
Hope your delegates are armed with your chapter's vote on the new Long Term project, the annual project proposals as well as By-Law changes that will be presented.
The Convention quilt is in the final stages of completion. It is looking fantastic and some lucky Psi Ote will be taking this treasure home! Be sure to buy your ticket to win this piece of Psi Ote Convention history.
Cathy and Susie joined Margaret at the ISHA Convention in Indianapolis. It was a very proud moment for Psi Iota Xi. When Debbie Harman asked how many in the audience had a connection with Psi Iota Xi more than 100 hands shot in the air. Their connections? Some were Psi Otes while others had received benefits from Psi Iota Xi in the form of a scholarship or the purchase of needed equipment. It is amazing how far our arms have stretched to help those less fortunate. While some of us may be famously known as the "Cheese Ball" ladies -- we should be proud of how we have impacted the lives of many.

Convention Website Workshop
Delegates - be prepared to attend the Website workshop. Bring your questions, suggestions and opinions. Our Aradise team and your Council want to hear from your chapter. A convenient registration station will be set up for those present who've not yet registered. We'll also offer training on how to build your chapter's page, how to take advantage of the National calendar to promote your chapter's activities and best way to use PIX Social to keep all Psi Otes and engage them for ongoing networking.  | | Team Aradise attend an "Era" event commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the RMS Titanic. |
Donna and Tony (our Aradise team) are working diligently with Kaye Robison to create a web integrated National Database to provide a member-friendly ability to update our PIX membership information. Our new website has many exciting possibilities -- as Donna has often stated, "Never say no to an idea; just allow Aradise to make it happen!" Here is a picture of Donna and Tony attending the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic --- they are truly a fun couple that wants to support Psi Iota Xi to increase membership and gain recognition among all of our states.  |

President's Directory: 2012 - 2013
Just as last year, the President's Directory will be generated by the database and will be published on the Members-only tab of the web site.
To populate the database with current information, we need your chapter's help. If you haven't done so already, please submit your updated membership list to your District Officer ASAP or no later than June.
Please remember that you must start with the list that we provided you this spring. If it seems like this job is too overwhelming, please return the whole list that was provided, but update at least the Active, Honorary Active, Sustaining, and Temporary Inactive members. Also, please indicate your officers for the coming year.
Still need assistance? Contact either your District Officer or Kaye Robison, krob7271@sbcglobal.net. We don't want you to struggle to complete this task. However, your District Officer will contact you if you do not meet this June 1st deadline date.

Michigan State Goes Tech

They took advantage of our Photographer, Heather Mitchel and her lap top to get the Michigan gals signed up for the Psi Iota Xi website. The Michigan Love Gift was presented to Rhonda Belcher of the Niles District Library for Squealers Lapsit Storytime program. |

Indiana State Meeting
The Indiana State Association meeting held April 21 was a fun and meaningful day for all sister Psi Otes in attendance. The day was filled with State Association business, approval of State recommended projects and two style shows -- was truly a great day! Here are a few snapshots from the day.

Chapter Speech Clinic?
If you are currently paying a speech clinician for  holding a summer speech program, our accountant has this advice. The person should not have a contract. They are however designated as a contract employer. Withhold no taxes from their pay.
At the end of the year, if they have earned over $600.00, you are to give them a 1099 Miscellaneous Form. These forms are available at your local library, your accountant or direct from the IRS.
Fill in the Total Amount Earned and distribute the copies as directed on the forms. Previously, your chapter's accountant that approves your PCR would complete these necessary forms.
