Well, ladies we are getting closer to convention. I have no doubt It will be a "fun" and "exciting" time. I'm sure all chapters will send their delegates prepared to do Psi Ote Business, take home a lot of information - and along the puzzle path have a lot of fun networking with your sisters! Please be sure to send your chapter "news" to be included in upcoming newsletters to me at my email address below. This is just another great way to network with all chapters! And please don't forget to visit and register on the website. Lots of information there that is just for Members Only, including PIX Social (a secure place to share your information, photos, events, etc., and you don't have to worry about Facebook or Google harvesting your data.)! If you're like many Psi Otes, you have more than one email address. We want to be sure you get these newsletters and other important mailings so please be sure to share your preferred email address with your Chapter President who will advise National Council. Updating National Database
 A (turquoise and) gold mine of benefits!
For a long time, Psi Iota Xi has needed an improved way to keep track of its members. In using the database to solve this problem, we have found that it has provided other returns: - We can print our own Council and Chapter Presidents' directory, a cost savings.
- We can use it as a security list to ensure only Psi Ote members have access to the Members Only tab on the PIX website.
- We are able to send out mass mailings to all members via e-mail addresses.
These and other benefits prompt us to be diligent in keeping the database as accurate and up-to-date as possible! Soon your District Officer will be sending out your Chapter's membership list which currently resides on the database. It is on an Excel spreadsheet and will arrive by email attachment. Please use this list to update your information while keeping it in the format provided. The target date to return the list is May 10 with your new (2012-13) Chapter officers indicated. You may call your District Officer if you have any questions. |
Psi Iota Xi and the IRS
If your chapter is getting (or has received) notices from the IRS please do NOT ignore them. Please be aware! - Call, fax, snail mail or scan and email them to the National Treasurer.
- A number of our chapters had their tax exempt statuses revoked this year and it has taken several months to get them reinstated. And now a few more are being processed.
- While we do not understand why or how that happened we still have to go through the steps for reinstatement and it is time consuming and extremely frustrating for everyone involved.
- Chapter Presidents often change so it is hard to keep track of all notices but PLEASE pay attention to any IRS notice and let me know immediately!
- The sooner I know about an issue the sooner we can work at correcting the situation before a status is revoked.
- All chapters are subordinate chapters of our national organization and your signature forms from your PCRs are mailed in with our annual 990 as proof.
