MCN Celebrates 30 Years!
MCN kicked off our 30th anniversary May 8 with an Austin Open-House, celebrated in typical Austin style. Clinicians, health advocates, community activists and friends shared in the festivities.
Among the Highlights:
Marcia Roth, Executive Director of the Mary Byron Project in Louisville, Kentucky, joined us to bestow the Roth Award on MCN's Hombres Unidos Contra la Violencia Familiar violence prevention program. Also with us were colleagues from two previous award winners - the Texas Council on Family Violence and SafePlace's Expect Respect community outreach program.
To top the off evening, State Representative Elliott Naishtat read a Resolution from the Texas House of Representatives honoring MCN for 30 years fighting to advance health justice, and the Texas Senate issued a proclamation. Wishing those of you from distant locales could be here, we felt you here in spirit.

WPS: Calling All Clinicians! Take Action to Strengthen Farmworker Protections!
Farmworkers need your help. The hardworking families who put food on our tables deserve protections from pesticides. Farmworkers have waited over 20 years for the EPA to advance stronger safeguards to protect their health. MCN's letter endorses many aspects of EPA's proposed rule that fosters improved worker health and safety and calls for additional, stronger safeguards to better protect farmworkers. You can ensure they get these vital safeguards.
Please add your name to MCN's National Clinician Sign-On Letter to strengthen the Worker Protection Standard (WPS), which provides workplace protections for farmworkers exposed to pesticides.
