OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO BOSTON

Please keep the victims of yesterday's Boston Marathon bombings, as well as their families and friends, in your thoughts and prayers. Several members of the Kansas City Track Club traveled to Boston to participate in the 117th running of the event.  They represented us very well and we congratulate them on their well-earned achievements! We are thankful that all of our members were safe from harm and we are mindful of the participants and spectators who suffered. We can't even imagine the pain and distress that many of the marathon participants are feeling right now.  And yet through the darkness that surrounds the situation, light pierces through with stories of courage and bravery of runners who went beyond the 26.2 miles to help these innocent victims.  A marathon in itself is a test of the resiliency and determination of humans beings to overcome tremendous obstacles.  Let us push through the pain and continue to run to lift each other up.  We are grateful today for the ability we have to run and the life that we have to live.

A GOOD BREW

Kansas City's most beloved race lived up to the hype. The 19th Annual Brew to Brew Relay & Solo run featured great displays of endurance, creativity, and companionship. While many participants are seasoned veterans who come back year after year, Brew to Brew attracts many first-time runners and walkers due to it's lighthearted atmosphere. Be sure to check out the fantastic photos from SeeKCRun of both Saturday's and Sunday's races! If you would still like a shirt from this year's event, click on the link below. Next year's race will be on Sunday, April 6th! We'll let you know when registration opens. As you well know, this race fills up fast. Thanks to all the participants and 300+ volunteers that make Brew to Brew such an exceptional event!

ONE WILD RIDE

Hey runners! Now that you've finished Brew to Brew it's time to do the cycling beer tour! Tour de Brew KC is a bicycle tour of the city's zany, lurid and oft-forgotten brewing history-with samples from our current breweries-and a huge party that includes lunch and two beverages at the best blues venues in town, Knuckleheads Saloon. It's the only event of its kind in the region and isn't to be missed! Choose between 15, 33, or 63 mile rides through the heart of Kansas City's historic beer institutions. And, to keep you on the road, there will be rest stops with food, roving support and schwag bags. T-shirts available for advance registration.

Register here for $50 until May 5. For more information on Tour de Brew, visit the website.
