Housatonic Opens New Manufacturing Center
Some 100 people crowded the Broad Street atrium in Lafayette Hall recently to participate in a ribbon cutting that marked the opening of the new Regional Advanced Manufacturing Center. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy headlined a list of speakers that included Housatonic Community College President Anita T. Gliniecki, State Rep. Andres Ayala and Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch. "Turning the corner on decades of economic decline means we have to prepare our students with the high-tech skills that Connecticut companies need to compete globally," Governor Malloy said. "We must ensure that our workforce has the strongest possible foundation - that is how Connecticut will regain its competitiveness, create good-paying jobs with good benefits, and strengthen our economy."
