Dear Colleagues, It is that time of year again when MISBO will be encouraging each and every member school to participate in the annual benchmarking survey. For the second year we are partnering with SAIS and Interactive Data Partners (IDP) to bring this benefit to our schools. Last year nearly 250 schools (out of about 500 MISBO and SAIS members) participated in the benchmarking survey. The survey will open for data entry on August 18, 2013. We have made some minor modifications from last year. If you entered data last year you are now able to more fully realize the value by seeing trends. Also, your prior year data is accessible, making data entry simpler. Prior to August 18th you will receive an email message from IDP with your log-in information and more details. |

First, know that there will be winners and losers in this process. Small(er) small groups may benefit from the pricing change. Larg(er) small groups will not. The problems compound for clients that were previously in a "good risk" industry e.g. technology companies or schools. Clients in higher risk industries - e.g. dynamite manufacturers will benefit. This session is extremely important to our member schools.

2013 Annual Conference
 Be sure to register early for our 2013 Annual Conference - The Global Future: Preparing Students and Shaping Schools at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Conference Center on October 27-29! We have joined forces again with SAIS to host overlapping conferences so that all school decision makers can benefit from the entire three days. Registration for either conference allows you to attend all sessions, Sunday through Tuesday. We have arranged conference pricing at the Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel & Conference Center for $165 plus tax per night including internet and breakfast. The discounted room rate will be available until October 4, 2013.
Our Keynote Speaker on Monday morning will be Dr. Yong Zhao. Dr. Zhao is the Presidential Chair of Global Education and Online Learning at the University of Oregon, where he also serves as the Associate Dean for Global Education and Online Learning and the Director of Center for Advanced Technology in Education (CATE). He is also a full professor in the Department of Educational Measurement, Policy, and Leadership (EMPL). He is a fellow of the International Academy for Education. It's time to participate in the Adobe ETLA! If you want to participate in the enterprise agreement for Adobe Creative Cloud, please review the attached PDF and follow the steps below by the deadlines in the coming weeks:
STEP 1: Review the attached PDF for information about Adobe Creative cloud and the MISBO ETLA. STEP 2: Follow this link to complete your Adobe commitment form before 07/19 at Noon Eastern. http://bit.ly/ETLA-MISBO This information will be used by Adobe to generate a short agreement called a "Schedule A."

Benchmarking Survey
The 2013 MISBO-SAIS Benchmarking Survey is just around the corner. Last year over 200 schools participated and we're anticipating double that number for 2013.

We know it will be a tremendous resource of valuable information to those who were unable to attend the conferences in person.

Membership Renewal
It is now time to renew your MISBO membership for the 13-14 school year. Renewal invoices were mailed in May. Please note the invoices were based on the student count we have on record for your school. If your numbers are expected to be different for the 2013-2014 school year, please adjust your invoice accordingly and submit the appropriate payment.
