Dear Colleagues,
We are now four years past the crisis we faced dealing with the economic issues during the fall of 2008. We may have moved on from an economy in recession to a new place of uncertainty. The much discussed 'fiscal cliff' is a challenge for our nation and our schools. There are many unanswered questions to which we must pay careful attention as decisions are made in the coming weeks.
What is the potential impact to our schools if all the tax increases are implemented? Will our families have fewer resources? Will our families feel 'less wealthy'? Will this lead to another spike in requests for financial aid, which has already increased nearly 50% on average in our schools over the past five years?

What about other potential impacts? What if tax deductions are limited - especially if the amount of charitable giving is restricted? Are we as an industry ready to face a budget scenario with dramatically reduced giving from our families? This change will place additional pressure on increasing tuition rates.

Federal Health Care Reform (ACA) A Strategic Update
